Praise Him!

Hi everyone!  It has been a while since I've posted anything lately but I want to encourage all my singles or anyone that decided to grace my page today to listen to the video below.  The song is called  "Praise Him, Jesus Blessed Savior". The Lord has laid this song on my heart a couple of days ago and He's been telling me to praise him more than what I've been doing.  Sometimes we get so wrapped up in telling God our desires but we forget to do one of the most important things which is to praise and worship God, our Creator for who He is and not what He can do for us. May this song be a blessing to you as it has been for me.  God Bless! Take care!

My Honest Thoughts On Pure Flix

via Pure Flix

In search of family-friendly entertainment, I discovered Pure Flix after hearing about it on my local radio station. Pure Flix is a family-friendly video-streaming source on the web which includes some of the popular movies such as God's Not DeadGod Not's Dead 2, and I'm Not Ashamed. It's a Christian version of Netflix.   After becoming curious about it, I ventured on their website and immediately discovered that they were offering a free month's trial so I decided to try it out. During the first month, I noticed that there were a great deal of hit and misses with the quality of movies. Although some of the movies had bad acting or even the plots were uninteresting, there were a great amount of films that were captivating and moving. Along with the movies, they have television series, sermons, education resources, and so much more.

One of the features that I admire about Pure Flix is that they provide a Movieguide review on most of the movies. For instance, in God's Not Dead 2, here's a review of the movie:

If you have children, this will allow you to determine if the content is appropriate.  If you or anyone you know has homeschool children, there are great resources on Pure Flix as well.

After my free trial, I signed up for Pure Flix. The cost is only $7.99 per month which I think is a great deal with having a plethora of entertainment at your fingertips. I would recommend Pure Flix if you are looking for great Christian and family- friendly entertainment. You do not have to commit to it if it's not your cup of tea. Personally, that is what hooked me in. I didn't have to worry about continuing with the Pure Flix if I didn't enjoy it.

I am always interested in learning about more Christian movie websites so if you know of any family-friendly entertainment, please feel free to comment below or shoot me an email.

Those Who Wait On God by Tony Hinton and Nicole Hinton

In Those Who Wait On God by Tony and Nicole Hinton, the authors share their personal testimonies on how they found Christ and eventually, each other.  Because of their transparent accounts, I personally believe that this book has and will continue to impact many lives. I applaud the couple for doing this because so many people are struggling with so many issues and may feel like there is no hope for them.  Well, this book eradicates this belief. It affirms many truths but two truths that stood out for me are as follows:

1)There are young people who are truly living for Christ.

2)A person can be caught up in a web of sin but God can save and deliver.

I discovered Those Who Wait On God on Nicole Hinton's youtube channel iambcuzofu after watching several of her videos. The videos have been a great blessing to me because she encourages singles during their season of singleness.

I would recommend this book for the saved, unsaved, single, married, and everyone in between because there are nuggets in there to digest for every person for every stage in life. This book is a reminder to trust God and be patient on the promises of God. God is not a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34) because what He can do for one person, He can do for another.

You Will Get Through This!!

As I was praying to the Lord for words of encouragement for the people of God, He told me to let His people know that you will not be destroyed by your situation. The heartbreak, sickness, financial difficulty, loss of a child, or loss of a loved one was supposed to destroy you. It was supposed to make you lose your mind. God is saying it will not and you will make it through. In Genesis 50:20 (NIV), "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."

The law of gravity simply states that whatever goes up must come down. Well you are going to defy the law of gravity in your situation. In Isaiah 40:31(KJV), it says, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Of course, I'm not saying you will be floating around the earth. No, I'm saying you will rise above your problems.

People will look at you and wonder how you went through this. It's going to make them scratch their heads and say you are not supposed to even be here because of what you went through.  They will look at you and say that there is a God.  Sometimes we complain about why things happen to us but always remember this is bigger than you. Your testimony will cause people to run to God. You will get through this because you trusted God and held on to your faith.

Dream on Spiritual Attack

Hi everyone,

In a recent Facebook post, I shared a spiritual attack dream that the Lord gave me. Some of you may not follow me on Facebook, so I'm going to share it on this website.

Zeppelin

In a dream that the Lord gave me, I was on a large ship. As I was standing on the ship, an airship was coming towards me with such force to try and destroy me. There was a plexiglass wall between me and the airship, so when the airship came towards me, it just bounced off the plexiglass. I am revealing this to encourage the people of God that God has a hedge of protection around you. When the enemy tries to attack you, his plans will bounce off and not succeed.

Keep these scriptures in mind if you feel that you are under attack by the enemy.

"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord." ~ Isaiah 54:17

"Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him." ~ Proverbs 30:5

Psalm 91
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Shaken: Discovering Your True Identity In The Midst of Life's Storms by Tim Tebow

I've heard about Tim Tebow and how he proclaimed Christ, but I never followed him closely.  I'm not into football, so naturally I didn't know much about him such as the teams he played for or anything of that nature.  As I was perusing books to read, I felt led to read his book Shaken. His courageous stance on his faith piqued a curiosity in me to read the book. Who was this guy that boldly told the world that he was saving himself for marriage? Who was this guy that some knocked down because he shared his faith?

As I began to read Shaken, God was confirming to me everything that Tim was saying. Shaken gives an account of Tim's and other individuals' experiences with life's disappointments. It is one of those books that will encourage you when you are going through a very difficult time in your life and there isn't a light at the end of the tunnel. Tim's testimonies on how he dealt with life's storms by trusting God is very uplifting. After reading Shaken, the one word that came to mind was "Powerful". I love the statement inside the flap of the book that says"Your circumstances do not define you. Your identity does." His passion for Christ and his love for others is inspiring.

I really encourage anyone who is going through a difficult time in their life or if they are questioning their faith to read this book. It doesn't matter what you are experiencing, there is always hope. Never give up and remember that God has your back.

My 7 Day Canada/New England Cruise Experience

Recently, my family and I had a great opportunity to go on a 7 Day Canada/New England cruise. We enjoyed ourselves immensely from touring the different provinces to tasting the local food and delicacies. My main reason for traveling to Canada was to see Green Gables which I will explain more about in this blog post. My family and I felt that it made sense to do a cruise rather than travel to Prince Edward Island to see Green Gables. Therefore, we traveled to Montreal, Quebec; Quebec City, Quebec; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Sydney, Nova Scotia; Halifax, Nova Scotia, Bar Harbor, Maine; and Boston, Massachusetts with Holland America cruise line. Here are my honest thoughts on this cruise line. The Holland America's Veendam ship was smaller than the ships I've been on in the past. I was aware of this fact; however, I expected more activities during the day and was disappointed in that aspect. Other than that, the ship was very elegant and regal. The food was delicious and the staff was very welcoming.

The first stop was Quebec City, Quebec. Quebec was simply amazing. The architecture, cobblestones, and French speaking natives made me feel like I was in Europe. One of the places that we visited was the Château Frontenac and it was simply breathtaking as you can see above. The inside was just as stunning. This chateau operates as a hotel that I must say is quite expensive.

This was another street view of Quebec City. Look at that architecture!

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Green Gables house.  As a child, Lucy Maud Montgomery visited her cousins' home and this inspired her to write the Anne of Green Gables book series. The book was adapted into a film series which my family and I have watched over the years. If you haven't watch the series, you should try it out and let me know what you think.

The barns are located behind the picket fence where they are now operating as gift shops.

Interesting History Fact: While I was in Prince Edward Island, I had the pleasure of taking an Anne of Green Gables Tour. On this tour, the tour guide informed me of a black woman Viola Desmond, known as Canada's Rosa Park, who refused to leave the white area of the theatre and was then dragged out. If you are interested in learning more about her story, please click this link here.

One of the last stops was Bar Harbor, Maine where we took a trolley tour to Cadillac Mountain. This view is taken from Cadillac Mountain which is the highest point on the North Atlantic seaboard.

These are more breathtaking views of the small town of Bar Harbor. The first picture is the Ivy Manor Inn Bed and Breakfast which I immediately snapped a picture of because I love Tudor styled houses. The picture on the left is the Sherman's Book Store which is the oldest book store in Maine. The last picture of course overlooks the harbor.

My overall favorite places were Quebec City, Quebec; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; and Bar Harbor, Maine. In my opinion, Sydney, Nova Scotia was not tourist friendly in terms of having limited fun activities for tourists. When I spoke with other fellow cruisers, they voiced the same opinion. With that being said, the residents of Sydney were very friendly with helping me find different locations in the area.  On the first day, the cruise departed from Montreal and on the last day we arrived in Boston. Because of this, we didn't have much time to tour these areas.

This cruise provided a relaxing yet fun atmosphere in which I was privileged to meet different people around the world. We live in such a busy society where life can get so hectic that we sometimes lose ourselves. We lose what's most important like spending time with our loved ones. By allowing ourselves to share special moments with the people we love, we become more balanced and life adds a whole new meaning.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post. God Bless and take care!
