I Lost My Ring!

It was a typical Sunday morning and I was getting ready for church as I do on most Sundays.  As I was putting on my simple array of jewelry, I reached for my ring on my bureau. Suddenly, I realized it wasn’t where I normally placed it. At this point, I'm searching everywhere around my bureau and my ring was nowhere to be found. My heart sunk into my stomach as I started to feel the panic rise within me. In moments like this, we have two choices-one is to panic and the other is to trust God.  With God’s help, I decided to choose the latter choice.  I remember praying to God and I said this, “I will not panic. Lord, I don’t know where this ring is but you do. One or two things will happen. I will either find this ring or You will provide me the funds to replace it.” After I prayed this, a thought entered my mind that I probably lost the ring the previous day at my church’s banquet. This made me even more worried because in my mind, I’m thinking, “If I lost it there, the likelihood of me finding it is so slim.” Immediately, I had to correct myself and told God, “I trust you. You work in impossible situations, so you are going to work this out for me.”

With this in mind, I finished getting ready and headed out to church. During the worship service, hearts of thanks was given to our Heavenly Father believing that He was orchestrating the situation with my missing ring. From time to time during the remainder of the service, I thought about the ring, but it didn’t consume my thoughts. God really gave me His peace that surpassed all understanding. After church to my amazement, our pastor asked the congregation if anyone lost a ring. The ring was indeed mine and I was overcome with so much joy and gratitude. However, unbeknownst to me, I was later told the ring was already discovered the day before.

Let's take this and look at it from a spiritual perspective. When we bring our problems to God, God has already worked out the situation. Our problems may look impossible and it may even look as if they are heading in the opposite direction than where we desire for them to go. Remember that God works in the impossible situations in our lives. From the outside, the likelihood of me finding my ring at church seemed impossible because that ring could have been anywhere or someone could have picked it up and kept it. But God!

God reminded me at that moment that He was listening to my other prayers as well. Behind the scenes, He has already orchestrated all my prayer requests as well as yours.  We should have faith that God is working on our behalf.  Don't stress and don't fret. Stand firm on God's word and His promises.  When God answered my prayer concerning my ring or any prayer request that I have, it wasn't because I deserved it but because God is good.  I can never do anything to earn God's love because His love for me is unconditional.  So remember this scripture as I close this post.

"He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20 NIV)

Praise Him!

Hi everyone!  It has been a while since I've posted anything lately but I want to encourage all my singles or anyone that decided to grace my page today to listen to the video below.  The song is called  "Praise Him, Jesus Blessed Savior". The Lord has laid this song on my heart a couple of days ago and He's been telling me to praise him more than what I've been doing.  Sometimes we get so wrapped up in telling God our desires but we forget to do one of the most important things which is to praise and worship God, our Creator for who He is and not what He can do for us. May this song be a blessing to you as it has been for me.  God Bless! Take care!

My Honest Thoughts On Pure Flix

via Pure Flix

In search of family-friendly entertainment, I discovered Pure Flix after hearing about it on my local radio station. Pure Flix is a family-friendly video-streaming source on the web which includes some of the popular movies such as God's Not DeadGod Not's Dead 2, and I'm Not Ashamed. It's a Christian version of Netflix.   After becoming curious about it, I ventured on their website and immediately discovered that they were offering a free month's trial so I decided to try it out. During the first month, I noticed that there were a great deal of hit and misses with the quality of movies. Although some of the movies had bad acting or even the plots were uninteresting, there were a great amount of films that were captivating and moving. Along with the movies, they have television series, sermons, education resources, and so much more.

One of the features that I admire about Pure Flix is that they provide a Movieguide review on most of the movies. For instance, in God's Not Dead 2, here's a review of the movie:

If you have children, this will allow you to determine if the content is appropriate.  If you or anyone you know has homeschool children, there are great resources on Pure Flix as well.

After my free trial, I signed up for Pure Flix. The cost is only $7.99 per month which I think is a great deal with having a plethora of entertainment at your fingertips. I would recommend Pure Flix if you are looking for great Christian and family- friendly entertainment. You do not have to commit to it if it's not your cup of tea. Personally, that is what hooked me in. I didn't have to worry about continuing with the Pure Flix if I didn't enjoy it.

I am always interested in learning about more Christian movie websites so if you know of any family-friendly entertainment, please feel free to comment below or shoot me an email.

Those Who Wait On God by Tony Hinton and Nicole Hinton

In Those Who Wait On God by Tony and Nicole Hinton, the authors share their personal testimonies on how they found Christ and eventually, each other.  Because of their transparent accounts, I personally believe that this book has and will continue to impact many lives. I applaud the couple for doing this because so many people are struggling with so many issues and may feel like there is no hope for them.  Well, this book eradicates this belief. It affirms many truths but two truths that stood out for me are as follows:

1)There are young people who are truly living for Christ.

2)A person can be caught up in a web of sin but God can save and deliver.

I discovered Those Who Wait On God on Nicole Hinton's youtube channel iambcuzofu after watching several of her videos. The videos have been a great blessing to me because she encourages singles during their season of singleness.

I would recommend this book for the saved, unsaved, single, married, and everyone in between because there are nuggets in there to digest for every person for every stage in life. This book is a reminder to trust God and be patient on the promises of God. God is not a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34) because what He can do for one person, He can do for another.
